Given the general strength of swimming in the Madison area, it's worth noting that longtime D1 state power Madison Memorial ran its unbeaten streak to 100 meets in the Big Eight Conference Friday night with a win over Madison West, 114-56.
The Wisconsin State Journal (finally) provides some nice coverage of the meet, complete with pictures and video. here:

Memorial has won 10 state titles in its history, and it was nice to see former coach Gary Kolpin, who led the rise to prominence of the program, on hand for the milestone (he still can't get over the last loss by the Spartans in the Big Eight).
Memorial is the defending D1 state champs, and almost always swims well late in the season. With several other teams -- Hartland-Arrowhead, Waukesha South/Catholic Memorial, and Bayport among them -- demonstrating their prowess this year, the D1 team race next month is shaping up as one of the better ones in recent years.
