The new state coach's poll is out (http://www.wisca.net/polls), and there is a new #1 team in D1 -- the Waukesha South/Catholic Memorial co-op.
The Blackshirts displaced Hartland Arrowhead, the leader of every poll done by WISCA this season. WS/CM entered the poll in the first week of January in the #3 position, and have been climbing steadily toward the top ever since. Still, the D1 field looks closely contested among the top four squads, with defending D1 state champs Madison Memorial and Bayport joining the Waukesha co-op and HA as the top-tier teams in D1.
D2 remains pretty much the same -- three-time defending champs McFarland with a healthy lead, followed by the two closely matched neighboring teams, Shorewood and Whitefish Bay. Madison Edgewood made a strong move to #4 this week, while the remaining top 10 is extremely close.
Here's the latest poll:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Whitefish Bay and Shorewood would be tied if Whitefish Bay's 200 Free Relay time was updated to the 1:31.18 they swam in Appleton.
The WISCA polls and top-30 lists are wholly dependent on coaches providing updated results. My sense is that there's just a sliver of difference between SW and WB. This Saturday at Small School State should help sort things out a bit.
